Environmental Health Program 

General Information

Purpose: After students are taught concepts and definitions related to nature and the environment in the form of basic sciences such as biology, ecology, and climatology; the emergence of various environmental problems caused by natural and human factors, their effects, and possible solutions to these problems are given in detail in the courses related to each subject (air pollution, solid waste, land use, and the environment, etc.). In addition, national and international environmental legislation is taught comparatively in order to shed light on students' working lives. In this context, the main purpose of the program is to instill in students an awareness of the importance of the environment, why it needs to be protected, and what we may encounter if it is not protected, and to ensure that graduates with this awareness work on environmental issues.  

History: The Environmental Health Program affiliated with the Department of Medical Services and Techniques was opened by the Council of Higher Education in 2010. In 2012, the Environmental Health Program started accepting students with a quota of 30.   

The Environmental Health (Evening Education) Program started accepting students in the 2013 academic year. Based on the letter of the Council of Higher Education dated 30.01.2018 and numbered 75850160-301.01.01-E17470 titled “closing evening education programs and transferring them to daytime education programs”, the Environmental Health (Evening Education) Program of Iğdır Health Services Vocational School was closed.

  Title: Health Technician 
 Working Areas: They can work in public institutions and organizations that operate in the environment such as Municipalities, Bank of Provinces, Ministry of Environment, and private and voluntary organizations. In today's conditions, there are not many opportunities to start their own businesses.
 Job Opportunities: Although there are not many job opportunities today, it is possible to say that it is a bright field since environmental issues are future-oriented issues.

Course Catalog 

Çift Anadal / Yandal Programları  

Double Major Program: It allows students to earn a bachelor's degree in a department they are interested in, in addition to their main department. In this program, students can complete courses in two different departments and earn a diploma in both fields.  

Minor Program: Allows students to take a certain number of courses in a field they are interested in, outside of their major. Students who complete the minor program are given an official certificate in that field; however, this does not mean a second undergraduate degree.  




Exchange Programs  

It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.  

Career 

Purpose / Objectives of the Department / Program: To prepare students for professional life by providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills in their fields.
