Medical Laboratory Techniques Program
General Information
Within the framework of this program, laboratory technicians who are well versed in basic laboratory techniques and can use modern technology in all departments of medical laboratories (biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, endocrinology, etc.) are trained.
After students receive theoretical information on the subject in line with the characteristics and principles of the Medical Laboratory Program, they participate in practice within the scope of "Clinical Practice Laboratories" courses in laboratories of adequately equipped hospitals (Medical Faculty Hospitals, State Hospitals, Private Hospitals) under the supervision of academic staff. At the end of the first year, our students complete their compulsory 40-day summer internship in clinical laboratories.
Quality and accreditation in healthcare services, which have gained importance especially in the last decade, and the increasing number of hospitals have also increased the need for qualified healthcare staff. When our students take courses from other programs as a sub-branch in addition to the information related to the Medical Laboratory Technology Program, they will be able to advance to higher levels in time, depending on their success and self-development.
Graduates of this program will be able to work in hospitals and medical laboratories.
History: The Medical Laboratory Techniques Program affiliated with the Department of Medical Services and Techniques was opened in 2009.
