General Information :
Developments in surgical technologies and the priority given to patient safety and rights have made it necessary to open an operating room services program. This program aims to eliminate the shortage of personnel needed in the surgical field, increase the quality of surgery and train more conscious assistant surgical personnel. In addition, it is aimed to train personnel who are respectful of ethical values, have high communication skills, are prone to teamwork, can solve problems and can grasp quickly.
The operating room technician prepares the operating room environment by knowing the operating room preparation techniques of all surgical departments. He sets up the devices to be used in the surgery and prepares the necessary materials before the patient enters the operating room. After the patient is taken, he opens the materials, puts the patient in the appropriate position together with the surgeon and creates the sterile area. He also establishes the connections of the devices to be used and ensures that the surgery begins.
The Operating Room Services Program will contribute to the social, academic and physical development of Iğdır University on a provincial and district basis. The surgical services technicians trained will contribute to the health sector in the province, region and country.
History:
The Operating Room Services Program was reviewed at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting of the Council of Higher Education dated 29.01.2020 and opened with the letter dated 10.02.2020 in accordance with article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880.
