Medical Imaging Techniques Program
General Information
Correct diagnosis and treatment of diseases are among the fundamental goals of health sciences. Early diagnosis and treatment of diseases are extremely important for the society to consist of healthy individuals. In this early diagnosis and treatment process, medical imaging methods provide physicians with very valuable data. The discovery of X-rays by the German physicist Röntgen opened the door to medical imaging methods, and new applications have been introduced in the field with the research and development activities carried out in the last thirty years.
The efficient achievement of medical imaging methods is possible with the presence of a well-trained team in the field. This team consists of radiology, nuclear medicine or radiotherapy specialist physicians and medical imaging technicians.
With the opening of the program; Qualified technical staff will be trained who can use their knowledge and communication skills in line with the education and training they receive in all radiodiagnostic modalities used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases (conventional and digital radiology, fluoroscopy, digital subtraction angiography, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging), as well as nuclear medicine (Spec, PET, PETCT) and radiotherapy (simulator, linear accelerator, etc.), who have the technical equipment to apply developing technology in the field, who have the ability to synthesize information, who can easily use eye and hand coordination and who can coordinate with radiology specialists and other healthcare personnel.
Working Areas: Graduates of the Department of Medical Imaging Techniques can work as technicians in the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy departments of public, university, private hospitals and private medical centers and private imaging centers.
A medical imaging technician:
- Medical imaging devices
- Magnetic Resonance,
- Computed Tomography,
- X-ray,
- Angiography,
- Scintigraphy,
- Positron Emission Tomography
Bone Densitometry obtains two or three-dimensional images of the areas of the human body deemed necessary by physicians.
History: The Medical Imaging Techniques Program, affiliated with the Department of Medical Services and Techniques, was opened in 2018 by the Council of Higher Education and started accepting students in 2019.
Undergraduate Programs:
- Department of Nursing
- Department of Nursing and Health Services

Course Catalog
Double Major / Minor Programs
Double Major Program: Allows students to earn a bachelor's degree in a field they are interested in, in addition to their primary field. In this program, students can complete courses in two different fields and earn a diploma in both fields.
Minor Program: Allows students to take a certain number of courses in a field they are interested in, outside of their major. Students who complete the minor program are given an official certificate in that field; however, this does not mean a second undergraduate degree.

Exchange Program
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.
