Audiometry Program
General Information
Audiometry Program Introduction: The purpose of the Audiometry program is to train personnel working in the fields of hearing and hearing disorders, hearing evaluation, and rehabilitation of hearing and speech disorders. Audiometrists work in public and private hospitals and schools for the deaf. There is a need for intermediate profession personnel in the field of audiology in our country. Therefore, graduates do not have much trouble finding a job.
Purpose of the Program: The purpose of the Audiometry program is to train personnel working in the fields of hearing and hearing disorders, hearing evaluation, and rehabilitation of hearing and speech disorders.
Main Courses Taught in the Program: In the first year of the Audiometry department; basic courses such as physics, statistics, psychology, child development, physiology, anatomy, pathology are taught, in the second year, vocational courses on audiology, ear, nose and throat diseases, hearing aids, audiometric devices are taught and practice is done in ear, nose and throat-audiology clinics.
Required Qualifications: Students who want to enter this program must be well-educated in physics, physiology, anatomy, pathology, and especially ear, nose and throat diseases. Audiology is a young and rapidly developing branch and since it concerns human health, it requires determined and meticulous work.
Titles Earned by Graduates and What They Do: Students who complete the Audiometry program are given the title of "Audiometrist". Audiometrists perform hearing measurements in public and private hospital ear, nose and throat clinics under the supervision of an ear, nose and throat specialist; apply differential tests for the diagnosis of ear diseases, apply hearing aids to patients with hearing loss; and conduct hearing screenings in schools.
Working Areas: Audiometrists work in public and private hospitals and schools for the deaf. There is a need for intermediate professionals in the field of audiology in our country. Therefore, graduates may not have a problem finding a job.
History: With the letter of the Council of Higher Education dated 20.10.2017 and numbered 75850160-101.03.01-E.70396, the Audiometry Program affiliated to the Department of Medical Services and Techniques was opened.

Double Major / Minor Programs
Double Major Program: Allows students to earn a bachelor's degree in a field they are interested in, in addition to their primary field. In this program, students can complete courses in two different fields and earn a diploma in both fields.
Minor Program: Allows students to take a certain number of courses in a field they are interested in, outside of their major. Students who complete the minor program are given an official certificate in that field; however, this does not mean a second undergraduate degree.

Exchange Programs
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience.
